Mobile and stationary welding screens
What are welding screens?
Welding screens are partitions that protect against light radiation (infrared and ultraviolet) emitted by the welding arc. They are made of a light steel structure (mobile version with attached wheels) and filled with flame-retardant welding foil.
Fixed, light welding screens made of sheet foil 1400x0.4 mm
Light permanent welding screens, whose main advantage is a light metal structure, filled with a sheet of welding foil only 0.4 mm thick. The foil is available in four color versions with varying degrees of transparency. Welding screens are available in two versions differing in width: the narrower one is 1.45 m, the wider one is 2 m.
Mobile welding screens KF200 series
This is an improved version of the KF210 series welding screen. What changed? First of all, the longest element of the frame has been shortened by 10 cm, which allows for cardboard shipping and reduces its costs by 50%! Secondly, the side arms in folding welding screens have been extended by 5 cm each. Thus, when unfolded, the screen is as much as 4.1 m long. Additionally, the mounting of the arms has been redesigned, so they do not fall down like in the KF210 version, but remain level. The steel structure of the frame is covered with a gray epoxy coating.

The curtains in the welding screen are connected to each other using press studs embedded in the side edges of the curtains. Extreme curtains, matte, dark green. Red, transparent middle curtain.
Welding partitions of the KF200 HORIZO series
The filling of Horizo welding screens is made of three welding strips, 57 cm wide and 1 mm thick. The filling length is 160 cm. The strips in the screen are thermally connected to each other. It is a strong and durable connection. The upper edge of the filling is reinforced and fitted with mounting eyelets. The upper and lower parts of the filling are matte, dark green foil with slight transparency. The middle strip is a red welding foil with high transparency.

What are welding screens used for?
Welding screens are primarily used to protect people working near the welding station and not equipped with welding clothing. Both the skin and eyes of such people are exposed to dangerous infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV) radiation as well as flashes of blue light emitted by the welding arc. Materials filling slats, strips and sheets, as well as curtains, filter 99.998% of light radiation. All foils meet the requirements of the welding standard EN ISO 25980 (formerly EN1598).
Are welding screens flame retardant?
Kiner welding screens stop light radiation that is dangerous to life and health. Additionally, 2 mm thick lamellas protect against burns caused by sparks and molten metal spatters.
It is worth adding that the PVC foil from which the filling of welding screens is made is flame retardant. It does not burn, it does not drip with burning drops, but it smokes very intensely. After removing the fire source, it goes out automatically within 3 seconds. The material prevents the spread of fires, which often result from the combination of heated spatters and flammable materials left on the welding station.

Are welding screens transparent?
Transparency is also a feature that characterizes welding screens. The ScreenFlex foil from which the screens are filled is transparent, so you can see what is happening at the welding station without the risk of burning your eyes or skin. An additional advantage of this solution is the fact that when a welder faints, has an accident, or when a fire starts at the workplace, people working nearby will be able to see the threat through the transparent welding screen and provide first aid in time.
Of course, each of the four colors of welding foil has a different degree of transparency:
RED – the greatest transparency
BROWN – second degree of transparency
GREEN – third degree of transparency
DARK GREEN – the lowest transparency
Kiner manufacturer of welding screens compliant with the EN ISO 25980 standard
Kiner is a manufacturer of frame welding screens that meet the strict requirements of the EN ISO 25980 standard:
- filter 99.998% of infrared IR and ultraviolet UV
- radiationthey reflect less than 10% of the light falling on the welding screen towards the welder
- the material is flame retardant and, importantly, it extinguishes itself after the flames subside in less than 3 seconds
- 2 mm thick filling protects against burns from hot welding spatters and sparks
Stable and easy to install Kiner welding screens
We produce welding screens that are extremely easy to assemble and disassemble for e.g. transportation. Each product reaches the customer with clear assembly instructions, and the elements always fit each other perfectly. Each frame is assembled in a very short time using basic tools. After hanging the foil filling, the welding screen becomes stable mainly thanks to properly designed and profiled stands as well as due to the appropriate quality of steel. KF210 and KF200 welding screens are stable structures resistant to material aging processes and mechanical damage.

Fittings for welding screens
Welding screen marking according to EN ISO 25980
To make sure that the welding screen is made of materials that guarantee an appropriate level of protection, we must check whether the following information is permanently marked on the foil:
- name of the manufacturer, distributor or importer
- welding standard number
- production date (year and month)
How much do Kiner welding shields weigh?
Stationary welding shields
We produce welding screens in two versions: a lighter stationary one and a heavier mobile one. Stationary welding shields are smaller and made of thinner profiles. Their weight is 10 kg for a width of 1455 mm and 11 kg for a width of 2000 mm. Due to their low weight and size, stationary welding screens can be easily moved, moved and transported.
How much weight do mobile welding shields have?
Mobile welding shields are heavier, which depends on both the type of filling foil and the size of the frame. The weight of the screen on wheels ranges from 23 kg (screen without arms with 200 cm wide curtains) to 48 kg (welding screen 410 cm Long with side arms and welding slats 300×2 mm and 190 cm long). Due to frequent movement and larger sizes, mobile welding screens are made of more durable profiles. If we add the weight of a thicker filling foil, the result will be a heavier, high-strength product. That’s why we equip mobile welding screens with wheels that make them easier to move. Additional assistance in moving the screens is provided by foldable side arms, which reduce the width of the partition when moving it. After unfolding the arms, we get welding screens with a width of 4.1 m for the KF200 series and 4.3 m for the KF210 product series.

Kiner stationary welding screens made of 1400x0.4 mm sheets
Stationary welding screens ES145 and ES200 are used primarily as covers for welding and grinding stations as well as heat treatment stations. They filter harmful infrared radiation and protect against blue light flashes emitted by the welding arc. Additionally, despite the filling thickness being only 0.4 mm, they prevent hot metal spatters and sparks from spreading beyond the welding station. The 1400×0.4 mm welding foil used to fill welding screens is flame retardant.
Fixed welding screens are a structure based on a steel frame and a sheet of welding foil stretched between the upper and lower crossbars.
